Current ACR Employees
We would like to express our appreciation to our past, current and future employees for their positive impact on the lives of the people with disabilities whom we support at ACR Homes. From our start in 1981 with just one group home and ten employees, we’ve grown to sixty home sites today, and over 1100 employees. Along with our growth, ACR has maintained a reputation for providing consistent, high quality care. We know this is the result of the individual efforts and commitment of the employees who comprise ACR.
ACR’s company culture is defined by our core value statement that “all human life is intrinsically valuable and worthy of dignity and respect.” This core value energizes our work of helping people with disabilities. We know that you are the ones who actually put these words into action every day in creative ways to meet the needs and interests of the people we support so that they can lead fulfilling lives.
The name “ACR” stands for Acceptance, Communication and Respect, and thanks to you those are not empty words. Our philosophy of care recognizes that people with disabilities have the same needs for acceptance as people without disabilities. We see that you do that in your everyday attitudes and interactions. We also recognize that we are all communicating all the time – any limitations on the ability to speak or write does not mean a person cannot communicate. Over and over we hear wonderful stories of ACR staff picking up on subtle communication cues that can make all the difference for people whose disabilities make speaking or writing a challenge. You also convey respect in the way you speak and listen, attend to cues, appreciate, support and respond to each person’s communication style. You are the ones who make our philosophy of care a reality. Thank you for all you do!
